How Would The World Look Like If It Were 100 People (VIDEO)
How would the world look like if it were 100 people? This is a question almost nobody asks themselves, but the answer to it is utterly surprising. GOOD Magazine created this video to explain how the world would look like if the entire globe was populated by only 100 people.
The idea behind this video is to show just how unjust the world we live in actually is. After analyzing the data, you will come to realize that social injustice and inequality around the world are very much present even today, in a society considered to be modern and advance.
If the world were 100 people, 50 of them would be women and the other 50 would be men. Asians would be the most in numbers, having 60% of the world’s total population, followed by Africans with 15%, Americans with 14% and Europeans would sum up 11% of the globe’s people.
Going more into the details, we will see some very surprising statistics that make social injustice and inequality even clearer. The conclusion shows that even if we were just 100 people living on this planet, there will still be at least 1 person starving, while 1 person would control more than 50% of the world’s total money.
The other 60 people remaining would speak over 6,500 different languages.
Putting things in this perspective makes our reality seem more and more grotesque and it should motivate all national governments and people from all over the world to start making a difference for the greater good.
With a population of 7.125 billion (2013 data) people living on Earth, it’s hard to get a real sense of how people are living around the globe. By narrowing the population to just 100 people, the problems seem all the more important and they are very easily visible from every angle.
It’s time for a change! Let’s spread the word.
