Warriors and Wolves – Heartwarming program helping veterans and wolves heal together from their traumatic experiences. This amazing and one of a kind program brings army veterans and wolves together where they live remote, relying just on each other, in order to heal from abuse, stress and trauma.
Although wolves are known for being excellent and ruthless pack killers, they too can suffer from immense trauma, gained after being abused or hunted down by man from almost every forest and mountains in the US.
Same goes for military veterans. After years of war, killing and watching innocent people getting killed, soldiers experience post-traumatic stress syndrome long after they have returned back home from war zones.
This program helps both veterans and wolves to get over the trauma, in the peaceful woods of Frazier Park, California, by becoming friends with one another and releasing the stress through the love and care of the other. It may sound like something coming straight from a fairy tale, but this is so beautiful, so real, so unique… It’s completely overwhelming and heartwarming.

“There are things I’ve seen that I can’t unsee. There are things I’ve done that I cannot undo. Just saying that, ‘well, I did it in the name of my country‘ doesn’t help you sleep at night. But what does help you sleep, is having a companion,” says one army vet.
“After 10 years of military life, it was sort of a tough transition. Had I continued down my course of being angry, drinking myself to death may have been the last chapter of my life.” the US veteran added.
“They kind of teach you how to be calm and confident. It’s got some deeper meaning when they accept you…they accept you into the family – part of the pack.”
