Located in Ana Crowne Plaza Hotel in Hiroshima, this amazing Japanese wedding chapel was designed by Nikken Space Design. They use a very ancient and beautiful Japanese tradition of kimono making in order to come up with the designs for the 100 wooden panels which line the interior walls. These panels make up a steel-arched dome, measuring 6m (20 ft) high and 19m (62 ft) long.
These mesmerizing designs are not only meant to bring a soothing atmosphere but also to lend a poetic meaning as well. The hand-carved design features the roots, trunk, and leaves of a single tree, meant to provide wedded couples with the heritage of ancestors as well as best wishes for the future.
The shadows made by these panels also add to the feeling of being, not in a building, but rather outside in the forest. The local Cypress wood used for these panels has remained in it’s original, natural color, in order to add to the forest feel the chapel offers it’s visitors.
Hope you like this Japanese wedding chapel as it represents the way through which these people see life and everything in it.
