His intention was to “celebrate the beauty of these cultures and their traditional ways of life” and truly succeeded. We can truly see something amazing here. The difference in cultures which is not so common nowadays. I mean, yeah, it’s true that the Chinese culture is not similar to people from Italy for example, or Russians and Australians, but still; take a look at these peoples.
The differences in the way they dress speak volumes. An image is worth a thousand words after all. From there alone we can catch glimpses of what they believe in, what are their ideals in life and a lot of other different things. In today’s modern world, the jeans and t-shirts are everywhere regardless if you’re Chinese, Kenyan, Romanian or Mexican. There’s no more wonder there.
Now many say that this is a good thing, and they’re probably right. Visible differences like these have always made people hate each other and there’s no more room for tribal and separatist ways of thinking in today’s modern world. Nevertheless, these few remaining examples of our ancestry must be allowed to exist as testament of our own existance and development.
Some of the photographs from his collection, which he also shared in his book titled “Before They Pass Away,” follow. You need to glimpse the majesty of these remote tribes before they disappear.
