Amazing Portraits Of People Wearing All Their Clothing At Once
Through these amazing portraits of people wearing all their clothing at once, talented Canadian artist Libby Oliver manages to capture and reveal an entire lifestyle of one person with one single shot.
Her project is called “Soft Shells” and she photographs people wearing their entire possessions. When it comes to clothing possessions that is…
This is what really makes these awesome portraits stand out. Usually, when you think about a portrait, you would imagine to see someone’s face in there. However, when it comes to Libby Oliver’s innovative thinking, a portrait doesn’t have to reveal a face.
It can reveal much more through other forms of channeling the essence of the photo. If it’s done right. We’ve all seen plenty of portraits showing people’s faces, but how often do we come across something like this?
By expressing our relationship with fashion, and the physical possessions we have, Libby Oliver manages to show more of a person’s personality.
“I enjoy the mundane, habitual and borderline ritualistic underpinnings of our culture,” says Libby. “I am interested in our struggle for independence and control within the greater limitations of prescribed social constraints.”

“Through investigating our perceived individuality, I am also exploring concepts of consumerism, polarized culture and social class systems… I use humour and satire to make my work accessible to a wider audience in an attempt to create a space for social inquiry and critique for the relatively unconsidered patterns of society.”
