1,5 million people agree that this is why couples divorce and for some, this explanation couldn’t be any clearer. “Paul Amato, a top divorce rate researcher, believes that between 42% and 45% of marriages in the US will end in divorce when all of these different measurements are taken into account. So, 50% of marriages don’t end in divorce as previously reported” writes the DivorceLawyersForMen website.

While the divorce rate in the US is not 50% as previously thought, numbers are still really high as opposed to other countries and as opposed to numbers from the past.

Taylor Myers, a 25-year-old poet took it upon herself to find an explanation for why couples divorce and what lies underneath this separations. “A lot of people ask me what my biggest fear is, or what scares me most. And I know they expect an answer like heights, or closed spaces, or people dressed like animals, but how do I tell them that when I was 17 I took a class called Relationships For Life and I learned that most people fall out of love for the same reasons they fell in it” she wrote on her Tumblr blog and her post got approximately 1,5 million people agreeing and sharing her explanation.

This is Taylor’s original post.

Shortly after, she came up with another post, after reading people’s reactions online.
