This man devoted his life to adopting old dogs who can’t find new homes due to their age and looks. All animals are beautiful, but sometimes it just takes the right guy to step in and become the hero.

Steve Greig’s dog died and he felt crushed. That was the moment when he decided to devote his life to adopting old dogs from shelter that couldn’t find forever homes because nobody would adopt them.

Steve went directly to a local shelter from Denver, Colorado, and asked for the ‘least adoptable’ senior dog and he took him home. That’s when it all started for Steve. Since then he constantly adopts old dogs and makes them part of his ever-growing family.

He now has 10 old dogs and everyday he gets up at 5AM to start preparing breakfast for the whole bunch. Almost all dogs have different diets. Being old means that they require special care and the food they eat has to be specially prepared for them. After breakfast, vet appointments and long walks in the park are usually due and although it may seem hard, for a superhero like Steve, the love and cuddles he gets is all the reward he needs.

“Whenever I sit or lie down at a dog-friendly level, there are always at least three or four of [dogs] attached,” Steve wrote on Instagram, where you can follow him along with other 478K people!

“They’re just wiser animals,” Steve Greig added. “You kind of know what you want out of life once you become a certain age. These dogs know who they are and it’s easy to develop a relationship with a person or pet who knows who they are. It’s just fulfilling knowing that these guys are happy and loved and well-taken care of. It makes my days worthwhile.”

In case you didn’t notice, there are a few other animals present in the picture. They are all part of Steve’s awesome happy bunch. He has a pig named Bikini, a rabbit, pigeons, cats, two ducks and a few chickens and they all get along just great!
