Before we get started with the full list of Olympic sports, let’s just go through a short history of the Olympic Games. The Olympic Games were held in Olympia, Ancient Greece, from 776 BC through 393 AD. However, the Games were interrupted and it took them 1503 to return in their modern form.
The first modern Olympics were held in Athens, Greece, in 1896, in one amazing competition brought back to life by Frenchman Baron Pierre de Coubertin. He presented the idea in 1894 and it only took 2 years to bring back the Olympic Games where they belong! Back to Greece, back to the world, back to the people!
