Photographer and former U.S. Marine Joel Parés has made a new photo series called Judging America. We know that prejudice is all around us and everyone is affected by it in one way or another. People don’t try to know the individual beforehand and just make a general opinion of him based on past experience with others who look similar or from what they hear from the media.
Joel Parés has made this series exposing this point and with the help of a group of diverse individuals was able to achieve a good result by bringing out some of the most influential and damaging stereotypes people in the US are most affected by. From a street gangster to a terrorist wearing a burka and from a white supremacist to a lowly beggar, all are just examples on how we judge people way to rashly. Even before we know anything about them.
