This imam opens mosque’s doors for cats in need of shelter, offering them all the warmth needed for a good night’s rest.
Mustafa Efe, the imam of the Aziz Mahmud Hüdayi Mosque, from Istanbul, Turkey, decided that worshipers can pray alongside cats and their little kittens, because… sharing is caring! He started letting cats inside the mosque last year when he noticed that winter was pretty rough and he saw a lot of cats without shelter.
One of these cats got so acquainted with the mosque and its people, she even decided to bring in her little kittens, one by one, until they were all comfy-cozy.
“The kitty has found the heart of compassion and mercy,” Mustafa Efe wrote on his Facebook page. It’s simply remarkable to see people living together with animals, in perfect harmony, bringing each other joy and happiness. Who wouldn’t want to live in a world like that?
The cats quietly listen to the Mosque’s service without interrupting.
Worshipers simply love these cats and they pet them with every chance they get.
One big happy family of kittens.
