How much do the world’s most important leaders earn per year? This is the question on everybody’s lips whenever an economical crisis emerges and people want someone to blame for the lack of money they are receiving.
Of course, everybody starts blaming politicians for the way things turn out, and people demand to know how much money do the people in charge of running our country earn. The results could be extremely surprising for some, consider that most of the world leaders earn less than $30,000 per year.
Vladimir Putin, the Russian President, doesn’t even know how much he earns per year, but luckily for him (and us), Business Insider created the top big salaries for world leaders report. Now he knows, and so do we. “Honestly, I don’t even know my salary. They give it to me and I transfer it into an account”, Putin said.
US President Barack Obama earns $400,000 per year, after the US presidential salary doubled in 2001, during George W. Bush’s office. While other important world leaders make their appearance in this top, like Angela Merkel and China’s President, they lack behind in comparison with Lee Hsien Loong, Singapore’s leader.
