Hand-Blown Glass Creatures Come To Live In Beautiful Sculptures By Scott Bisson
Scott Bisson is a talented glass blower living in Oregon, creates amazing hand-crafted glass creatures with delicate and detailed colors. He often chooses to imitate aquatic creatures or amphibians whose natural forms match well with the flowing characteristics of the molten glass that he forms.
Bisson’s career as a glass blower started in high school when he bent a glass tube over a bunsen burner. The experience began him down a path that, many years and trained tutors, saw him become a specialist at twisting and shaping molten glass creatures.
He takes satisfaction in working vigorously and challenging himself, writing on his website, “If I don’t lose a bit a day from getting in over my head, then I am not pushing myself hard enough. Skill is the raw material of a great piece, and drive and energy make it take shape.“
Working with molten glass to create glass creatures can quickly become a passion if one is not careful. Turning sand basically, in anything you pretty much want can become highly addictive, and doing it will give you a great satisfaction at the end. So what do you guys think?
