French Trains Are Being Transformed Into Beautiful Moving Museums
French trains are being transformed into beautiful moving museums and honestly, we could not come up with a more enjoyable way of traveling through France’s countryside. Train passengers now have the opportunity of visiting an art museum while going to work which is definitely something everybody would wish for on their daily commute.
French trains can be easily confused with art museums and passengers could simply forget to get off the train while contemplating on classical masterpieces like ‘Morning, Sun’ by Pissaro, ‘Blue Water Lilies’ by Monet and so many more.
This amazing idea was put in practice by France’s national train service, SNCF, together with 3M, an American manufacturing company. Bringing art to the masses is definitely the way to go in a society that has fewer and fewer time to pursue cultural activities. Instead of opting to place hundreds of ads inside their trains, SNCF decided to go the other way and promote culture, not consumerism.
The lucky passengers of SNCF will be able to admire scenes from the Musée d’Orsay, the architecture of Versailles and plenty of unique images from Cinéma Gaumont. The other huge upside of this project, besides bringing art to the masses, is that vandalism and criminal damage on trains has decreased considerably.
Next time you’re thinking about travelling in and to France, don’t hesitate and take the train! You are guaranteed to have a unique experience, surrounded by art on the inside and by the beautiful French countryside on the outside.
