As the avalanche of gastronomic overindulgence that is December slowly fades away, we find ourselves marooned in January’s often confusing world of dieting resolutions. However good our intentions though, pledges to eat healthily can easily be ruined by cravings for less than virtuous snacks and treats.
As we slowly try to rip ourselves off of the holiday leftovers, we find ourselves wanting to eat more and more. Since it’s cold outside, we tend to exercise less and our metabolisms slow down according to this new lifestyle, and so we find ourselves craving for fatty foods. But why is this? Well, most often its because we lack an essential vitamin or mineral and our body is telling us we need it. Because of this we tend to want to eat more and we lean towards all sorts of fast foods and snacks.
