In case you had no idea where all that ‘dark matter’ of the early 2000s vanished, here’s what happened with all the emo kids from that generation. Yes, they’re still alive and doing quite well, contrary to what anybody would have guessed 10 years ago.

After years and years of wondering about what happened to that (lost) generation of kids, a brilliant mind finally decided to ask a question that needed to be answered. Where else but on Reddit?

“Emos of the early 2000’s, what are you guys doing now?” was the question that triggered everybody in remembering their bad life choices from the past, and the results could have been any prettier.

“I’m a proper grown up now, working as a trainer for the bank, buying my first property, paying the mortgage. Still feel like a filthy wee emo though.”

“I am a loving father and husband. Gone are the days of black hair and bullshit. What a difference 10 years can make.”

“Before on the left: 15 years old. After on the right: 25 years old. I’m the mom to a neat four year old, I’m married, and I’m the manager of a local convenience store. All things I told myself at fifteen that I’d never do. I’m a boring adult but I think I’m better off now than I was then, that’s for sure.”
