Edible Six-Pack Rings Will Feed Animals Instead Of Killing Them
With ocean pollution at an all-time high, these edible six-pack rings that will feed animals instead of killing them could just be the best possible solution for this constantly growing problem. For now at least.
Every year, hundreds of thousands of animals have to suffer from ocean pollution. Animals die from being captured in plastic wraps, by eating toxic waste or by having to change their migration course in order to avoid floating piles of garbage.
Plastic six-pack rings are one of the most damaging pieces of garbage because they can easily get stuck on animals and suffocate them or cause certain anomalies. For turtles, these six-pack rings can even cause deformations to their entire bodies.
Luckily, Saltwater Brewery from Delray Beach, Florida, came up with the most innovative six-pack rings formula. The plastic packaging is now 100% biodegradable, meaning less plastic and garbage in the ocean and more food for our lovely little sea creatures.
Based on their statistics, Americans drank 6.3 billion gallons of beer last year, 50% of that quantity coming straight from beer cans. Since those six-pack rings will most likely end up in the ocean, this brewery decided to make a change for the best. The six-pack rings are made from leftover barley and wheat and even humans can eat them while watching the game.
The packaging will be a little more expensive, but if you care about ocean wildlife, birds and any other animals that come in contact with pollution, it’s definitely worth the price! The guys at Saltwater Brewery are hoping to convince the industry’s big fish to join in and commit to their newly designed packaging because this will considerably lower the costs for everybody.
Let’s make a difference! Bottoms up!
