As the fires rage all across the Californian state, two dispensaries have announced that they will hand out free weed for wildfire survivors and people who lost their possessions in the blaze . They will give out as much as $20,000 worth of Marijuana to people who lost their homes in the blaze and are now traumatized. Each victim will get about $200 worth of Cannabis.

Care By Design and AbsoluteXtracts are the two medical marijuana dispensaries who have taken upon themselves to ease the pain of these survivors. More than 23,000 people have been displaced as the fires spread over more than 305,264 acres of California’s forests and 2000 homes have gone up in flames.

This is as a direct result to the massive drought California is experiencing this year. In fact, it is considered to be one of the worst droughts in 500 years. City-water restrictions and state of emergency declared, it will be a tumultuous road to recovery, but at least this simple act of compassion is a sign to all those suffering that they are not alone. Perhaps we will witness other businesses stepping up to contribute in whatever way they can to help those affected by the fires.
