Diet Is More Important In Losing Weight Than Exercise
While exercise is extremely important in maintaining a healthy mind and body, if your main goal is in losing weight, your first objective should be to look at your diet. Studies have shown that the biggest difference between wealthy and developing countries in terms of obesity, is not physical exercise, but rather what you put into your body.
Developed countries, while more sedentary, offer a variety of ways of movement, which many people can and take advantage of. Developing countries on the other hand, offer these means in a more natural way, but in large, physical activity in both cases is more or less the same. The biggest difference is in nutrition, as the more developed countries have a lot of processed foods which are extremely bad for your health, which developing countries don’t.
For example, if you are to burn off 200 calories, you could walk for about one hour. Now, on average a chocolate bar has more than that. So which is easier? To walk for one hour, or to not eat that chocolate bar?
It’s not that of a difficult question after all, right? If we avoid eating processed foods as much as possible (which should not be confused with GMOs), we would see a steep drop in body weight.
In any case, this video below made by AsapScience perfectly shows this easy principle and how you could put it in practice.
