The ‘Deadly Libyan Trucks’ photo series by James Mollison is absolutely fantastic, showing us the machines and weapons used by Libyan rebels in Libya’s civil war which started right after the assassination of its former dictator Muammar Gaddafi.
Muammar Gaddafi was assassinated in 2011, when foreign troops decided to change the governing regime in the Northern African country, and since then, Libya and its diverse ethnic groups have been in a continuous battle for power, in a war that most likely will not end very soon.
Photographer James Mollison traveled straight to the heart of the problem, in Libya, to observe, talk and photograph the rebels fighting in the Libyan liberation movement. He captured stunning photos of Libyan battle trucks, which rebels use in their fight for freedom and in their pursuit of power.
These regular trucks owned by civilians are ‘pimped’ with old Soviet weaponry, and we have to admit that they look extremely cool, giving the impression that they come from a post-apocalyptic world.
