Courtroom Dresses As Disney Characters For This Little Girl’s Adoption Hearing
An entire courtroom dressed up as Disney characters for this little girl’s adoption hearing and the results were all that! Incredible in every single way, the stuff fairy tales are made of. Literally.
Five-year-old Danielle Koning received the surprise of her life when she entered court for her adoption hearing. All the people inside, including the judge, were dressed up as Disney characters to surprise her. Mission accomplished.
This little girl from Grand Rapids, Michigan, had been living with her foster parents, Sarah and Jim Koning, since 2014 and last week they all attended their final court hearing to adopt Danielle and another beautiful little girl. You can never have too many princesses around your castle…
Danielle’s foster care worker came up with this amazing idea of having a Disney themed court hearing, in order to make the event all the more special and magical. Since everybody got involved, even the judge who was dressed as Snow White, the entire court hearing was one happy story to tell your grandchildren about.
“It’s obviously a very meaningful day. The hearing is definitely a celebration that the kids now have forever families. And it shows the love and compassion that our case workers have,” said Laura Mitchell, Executive Director for Samaritas Foster Care Program.
Children deserve the best we have to offer them and once you’ll see their smiling faces, you’ll realize that everything was worth it. No matter the costs, no matter the efforts.
