These brave people reveal their private tattoos and show the whole world what they have been hiding underneath their clothes. British photographer Alan Powdrill created this unique photo series entitled ‘COVERED’.

He spent months searching for the right models and you can imagine that this process was not easy, having to convince complete strangers to reveal their secret and private tattoos. He had to figure out everything, starting from how to approach his subjects, the place where they would feel the most comfortable when being photographed and many other small actions that require the most rigorous attention.

The people he managed to convince to be a part of his project are absolutely unique. Each one has his own different story to tell. Each one more powerful than the other. The art of inking has witnessed several generations and Alan managed to capture all of them on camera.
