This Body Map shows where people like to be touched and where they dislike being touched, by strangers or familiar people. Some places are considered taboo by many people, especially when it comes to being touched by a stranger.
Where do women like to be touched and why? How about men?
Scientists at Oxford University have created a ‘Body Map’ based on a study involving 1,500 people, from 5 different countries and 13 different social groups, and the results are spectacular in some cases, while in other situations they are exactly what you would expect: People don’t like being touched by strangers!
The Body Map’s “touchability index” shows, through color-coded information, where people like and don’t like to be touched, starting from your partner, your family and friends, and going all the way up to complete strangers.
Live and learn. This just proves to show you how people, depending on gender and country perceive differently what is appropriate and what is totally unacceptable.
