Breathtaking Bird’s Eye Views Taken With Drones This Year
Bird’s eye views aren’t something that we’re completely used to. Commercial drones are a relatively new thing, and these types of photos and panoramas are somewhat of a novelty. Nevertheless, they have begun to spring up all over the place, and a Lyon-based photography platform called Dronestagram brings together these bird’s eye views, allowing their viewers to marvel at the beauty of the world – both closer to home, as well as in faraway places.
These bird’s eye views are stunning, to say the least, going from city skylines and well-known monuments to remote and natural places all around the world. Together with photography editor Ayperi Karabuda Ecer, they’ve turned their collection into a printed book. Called Dronescapes: The New Aerial Photography from Dronestagram, the book contains some of the most breathtaking bird’s eye views they have in their database, “showcasing the beauty and wonder of the planet as captured by drone-borne cameras,” as they say.
But besides their book, the team at Dronestagram has been organising the 2017 International Drone Photography Contest, also supported by National Geographic. This annual event will have 3 categories: “Nature,” “People,” and “Urban.” Anyone can submit until June 30th of this year.
