Americans Partying in Cuba Before the Embargo
These beautiful color photos of Americans partying in Cuba before the embargo era are a beautiful reminder of a time when the two countries were at peace with one another. Luckily for people living today, Fidel Castro’s Cuba is no more, and the island nation has opened its borders to American tourists once again.
German photographer Heinrich Heidersberger went on a cruise to Cuba in 1954, before Fidel Castro turned into a ruthless communist dictator. The photographer managed to capture American tourists in Cuba in all their splendor, partying and drinking all night long.
Cuba was one of the most popular destinations for Americans during the 50’s, given the Caribbean island’s exotic drinks, beautiful people and delicious food. Let’s not forget all the dancing and the beautiful beaches. They’re also a very big plus, and today’s Americans will finally get the chance to enjoy their grandparents’ favorite destination.
The embargo is now a thing of the past, and good times for Americans who would like to party in Cuba are on their way. While the embargo lift is a good sign for touristic and economic purposes, this will pretty much destroy a part of that isolated Cuban charm.
Old American cars from the 1950’s will no longer dominate the streets in the near future, and Coca Cola signs will start popping up like mushrooms after the rain.

We’ll just have to wait and see how globalization will take over the country and how Cuban authorities will deal with this issue.
