‘Addicted To Glamour’ Photo Series Shows Our Addiction To Material Wealth
‘Addicted To Glamour’ is a brutally honest photo series that shows our addiction to material wealth in a controversial and very plastic way. Fashion photographer Danil Golovkin, in collaboration with Fashion Gone Rouge magazine, managed to create this beautiful series of photographs that put things in perspective.
Our society’s addiction to gold, diamonds and anything expensive that glitters is becoming a very big issue in the world we live in today. ‘Addicted To Glamour’ is one of those photo series that should make the ‘Rich Kids of Instagram’ (for example) think twice before doing what they usually do on a daily basis.
Most young people growing up today are raised in a world where materialism is basically everything. You either have money or you don’t. You’re only worth as much as the money you have in your pockets. This is the mentality that has been perpetuated since as long as anybody can remember.
It’s up to photographers like Danil Golovkin to try to bring us back to our core values. To make us realize that things are not worth as much as people. Having money is not better than having friends and jewels are wroth a whole lot less than real life experiences.
The sooner we understand this, the better. How would you explain today’s society to a child? How would you want him to perceive the world we live in? Any thoughts? Suggestions?
