When Jack Garofolo visited New York in the summer of 1970, he was amazed by Harlem, a place so full of culture and vivid in every way possible. Spending 6 weeks in Harlem, he managed to capture the life, places and people of Harlem, while they were attending their daily activities.
Harlem’s outstanding people from the 70’s, and their personalities, were perfectly described through these images that first appeared on the cover of Paris Match in October 1970.
This just proves to show you that Harlem was cool when you weren’t even chilly!
