Over 500 Dogs and Cats Attended The Biggest Adoption Event and They All Got Adopted
Over 500 dogs and cats attended the biggest adoption event and they all got adopted and went home with their new loving owners. Last weekend, approximately 3,500 people gathered in line to attend the biggest adoption event ever, in order to find a new voiceless friend to bring back home with them.
This massive adoption event was organized by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) in Sanford, North Carolina, US. People couldn’t wait for the doors to open and to see the beautiful shelter dogs and cats in need of a new home.
Exactly 524 dogs and cats were present at this huge adoption event and at the end, you’ve guessed it, the number was 0. All the shelter dogs and cats found new homes in record time and we couldn’t be happier for the animals and their new owners.
“By 9:45 A.M. [Friday], at least 300 people were in line, and groups of 50 at a time were ushered to a large shaded tent where they filled out adoption applications,” ASPCA wrote on their website.
“The bell rang 524 times over two days to celebrate each rescued dog or cat that was getting a second chance at life,” ASPCA declared.
After Owen, an elderly dog, found a new home, the doors of the biggest adoption event were closed on a high note with all 170 ASPCA respondents singing “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow” as his new owners were taking him home. The event finished at 1:40 P.M. Saturday, when all shelter dogs and cats were adopted.
This is how an empty animal shelter looks like and it’s fantastic! A sight we would like to see in more and more places all around the world!
