If you think that your daily problems today are so incredibly hard to manage, don’t even bother to think about how your life would have looked like 100 years ago. Life was not a piece of cake back then. Putting things in perspective, your daily problems today don’t seem that complicated anymore, do they?

100 years ago, the majority of the globe’s population had no access to antibiotics. Let’s start with that. Basically, if we rewind our lives back to a century ago, even the smallest cold could have killed you. In most cases, it did. Without having any access to antibiotics and most of the medicine we take for granted today, everybody had to be a lot more careful with their health, just to avoid death.

Let’s go to food choices. Food was definitely healthier back then, simply because chemicals weren’t used in food production. At least not harmful chemicals like we can easily detect today in every processed and packaged meal. While this was definitely an advantage for people living in the early 1900’s, food resources were low, meaning that a lot of people starved to death, or had problems due to eating rotten produce.

Without getting even more into detail, life in the past was definitely harder, but it did have it’s certain je ne sais quoi.
